The La Junta Elks Lodge has a proud tradition of working with our veterans and seeing to it that they are never forgotten. We started our program with helping local veterans at the Fort Lyon Veterans Hospital located in Las Animas. After Fort Lyon closed in 2000 we moved our program to assisting veterans at the outpatient clinic located in La Junta. We also have supported the Pueblo Veterans Community Living Center located in Pueblo.
In February, PER Vince Fraker and member Ron Prather are the new VAVS representatives and will be representing the Lodge. If you know of any local veterans in need or would like to help at the Pueblo center please contact Ron or Vince at 384-9161.
